This information is required for you to become a registered user of the Site, whether as a customer or as a designer who wishes to sell products through the Site ( a “Seller”), and access certain areas or features of the Site. We may also from time to time collect data such as your preferences and interests and other information relevant to customer surveys and/or offers.
We do not ever store any financial information from you. All payments are processed through a secure third party payment provider (PayPal). If you have provided us with the personal data of another person, you confirm that he or she consents to the processing of his or her personal data and that you have informed him or her of our identity and the purposes (as set out above or elsewhere) for which that personal data will be processed.
We may conduct customer surveys from time to time by email, that will give us information that will be used to improve your experience of shopping at the Site. You do not have to answer these questions, but if you do we can communicate with you in a more relevant way and try to improve the user experience of the Site.

(d) to pass on details of your order (but not payment details) and personal information where you have purchased a gift from a wedding list on the Site to the users who created this wedding list;
(e) to periodically send your our newsletter about new products, special offers or other information which we think you may find interesting using the email address which you have provided, provided you have consented to such communications by email;
(f) to contact you by email for market research purposes to seek your views on the Site and on our services and those of our Sellers.;
(g) internal record keeping; and

6.1 When you place an order with any Seller on the Site, your personal details that you submit at registration must by necessity be forwarded along with the order, so you will need to verify their privacy policy directly with them if you wish. The Design Basket acts as a data processor for the Sellers in respect of the personal data of users which is necessary to process a transaction, subject to the use of your personal data by The Design Basket for the purposes set out in clause 3 above.
6.2 However, we are not responsible and do not warrant or guarantee that the privacy policies of any Seller, or any other companies that your personal information is passed to in accordance with this Privacy Policy, comply with data protection legislation. We are not responsible for any damages which you or others may suffer as a result of the loss of confidentiality of such information.
6.3 Any external links to other websites are clearly identifiable as such, and we are not responsible for the content or the privacy policies of these other websites.
