Planet Purple Kids, based in Dublin, produce an award winning range of Irish handmade quirky kits for kids. Designer Barbara Bradshaw had a successful career in theatre, before she started Planet Purple Kids 5 years ago, as a reaction to the endless stream of shiny plastic toys/ kits produced in the Far East for our children here. The idea was to produce a range of kits for kids, which would be designed to challenge and foster a sense of achievement; were aesthetic pleasin; used good quality materials; were as eco-friendly as possible; would give real value for money and would be produced here in Ireland. Their range of quirky and humorous kits include Finger Puppets Kits, Book Kits, Pencil Case Kits, Bag and Purse Kits, Loopy Pencil Kits along with gorgeous Springy Bird Kits. Barbara is a member of the Craft Council of Ireland and was awarded a ‘Highly Commended’ in the GA Award for Excellence, at the British Craft Trade Fair.
